It’s a small congregation
about the same size as the clergy
we’ve got ten thousand tunes
in our hot little liturgy
we try to bring a little light to the dark

st. jack daniels
and santa tequila
we sing in the street and we play in the park
wherever it swings, there’s the church of the spark
no marble altars, just the bar
no silver chalice, just a mason jar
we warm up with wine and when we’re cooling our jets
we smoke jazz cigarettes
we’re bringing the word
to the cocktail nation
silence to song
now that’s transubstantiation
a soul at a time, we’re making our mark
door’s wide open to the church of the spark
